New Zealand Mushroom Testing Requirements
Lack of Regulatory Requirements for Supplement Testing in New Zealand
In New Zealand, there is currently no requirement for companies to independently test their supplement products. It is up to the company selling the supplements to ensure that they are safe to use. Unless the company is regularly testing their products and sharing the results, consumers of supplements have no way to know that they are free of harmful substances, or even contain what they say they do!
Commitment to Safety and Transparency
For us, safety comes first and we believe our customers should know what's in their supplements. We have chosen to implement third-party testing for heavy metals, pesticides, and microbials in our products, as well as active compounds (beta-glucans) - a practice not mandated but one we believe is crucial.
Independent Results
Independent third-party labs offer unbiased testing, ensuring our products meet the highest safety and quality standards. This objective approach gives both us and our customers peace of mind.
Trusted Testing with Hill Laboratories
We use Hill Laboratories to test for heavy metals, pesticides, and microbials. They are IANZ accredited, NZ owned and operated, and have been providing testing services for over 40 years. They use state-of-the-art technology to detect contaminants at minute levels.
Potency Guaranteed with Massey University
We also test all our mushroom extract capsule products for potency, and we do this by verifying the proportion of beta-glucans in the extract, which are the main active compounds. This testing is performed by Massey University on our behalf, using the Megazyme test to accurately verify the potency of our capsules.
Ensuring Transparency in Testing Processes
Sharing our third-party testing process and results openly demonstrates our commitment to transparency. Our latest test results can be found on our website here.
Industry Comparison and Transparency Issues
Many other supplement companies claim to test their products but don't openly share the results. Often, the testing is performed by themselves or their supplier because third-party testing is more expensive, but this makes the results questionable, to say the least.
Demonstrating Dedication to Quality
Choosing third-party testing is a demonstration of our dedication to quality and transparency. It's not just about meeting expectations - it's about exceeding them and ensuring our customers have the utmost confidence in every product they use.
